Opened in March 1999, ExploreNorth is now the world's largest online access point to the circumpolar North. It houses over 4,000 pages of information that include written material and photographs produced for ExploreNorth. This material is all protected by international copyright laws.

    Users of the ExploreNorth site are expected to abide by all copyright laws. Material from ExploreNorth cannot be published (in print, on the Internet or in any other form) without obtaining the legally required permission from the ExploreNorth editor. Of particular note, linking directly to any image at ExploreNorth from any other Web site violates both copyright and bandwidth theft laws. While non-commercial reproduction of materials found at ExploreNorth may be approved at no cost, any commercial use will incur fees which vary depending on the specific use intended.

    For your protection, we have a very simple privacy policy - we DO NOT COLLECT any information during your visit that can be used to identify you, and we WILL NEVER USE your email address (or postal address, fax or phone number) except to respond to your communication with us, or to send you our newsletter which you have signed up for (if someone else signs you up for the newsletter, it only takes one click to remove yourself from our system forever).
