Headline: French Capitalist Secures Option onn Copper Mine Near White Horse, 1900

French capitalists are becoming interested in White Horse property. M. Clere, who is in Skagway now, has secured an option on one of the promising copper properties near that place. Referring to the matter the White Horse Star says:

"Maurice Clere, the well known French mining expert, who was with E. Janne De Lamar in Atlin last fall, arrived in White Horse from Vancouver Monday to look over the copper properties near here. The result of his investigations is that he has secured from the owner a five weeks' option on the Valerie mine, situated about eight miles from White Horse. Mr. Clere left this morning for the outside to make final arrangements for the purchase of this valuable propertv. The terms of the option we are not at liberty to state, except that it is for a large amount of spot cash."
