    Edwin Ridd was born in about 1859 at George Nympton, Devon, England. He died near Atlin on December 18th, 1906.

RIDD-BAILEY.

    At the St. Andrew's manse this morning, the wedding occurred of Edwin Ridd and Miss Mary Bailey. Mr. Ridd is an old resident of Vancouver, having come here just before the fire. He was for a considerable period connected with the Hastings Mill Company, but he will shortly go north under contract at a very handsome remuneration. The bride was Miss Mary Bailey, daughter of the late Alexander Bailey, of Bruce county, and a relative of Mrs. Thomas Shirley, of this city. The many friends in the city of both parties wish them all kinds of good luck.

The correct spelling is Mary Baillie (1866-1960).

    Atlin, B.C., Dec. 20 - E. Ridd, who was injured by a falling tree while timber-cruising two weeks ago near Atlin, died on Tuesday at the hospital here as a result of the injuries. He was a former well-known resident of Vancouver, where he had been employed at the Hastings mill for twelve years. He came north during the rush and had been engaged in the lumber business in this district, and was president of the Northern Power and Lumber company of Atlin. He leaves a wife and three children. He was a veteran of the Northwest rebellion, 1885.
