During the season just closed the White Pass fleet of steamers operating
between Whitehorse and Dawson carried down stream a total of 25,385 tons of freight. Of the above amount 18,713 tons of dead freight, 1488 cattle, 2916 sheep, 223 hogs, 65 horses and 73 calves went to Dawson.
For the Tanana and other lower river points there were carried 4648 tons of dead freight, 422 cattle, 721 sheep, 23 horses and 150 hogs.
For way points, between Whitehorse and Dawson 824 tons were carried.
The total tonnage carried last season was 22,144, the increase this season being 3241 tons.
While the figures for the passenger traffic for this season are not yet complete, they will show that the number of passengers carried down stream this year will fully equal rhat of last year which was 2232.
The White Pass company is highly gratified by the showing made for the
season just closed.
