At Km 86.7, the 60 Mile Road leads down to the vast 60 Mile (or "Sixtymile") placer gold mining district, and a seemingly endless maze of roads in conditions ranging from good gravel to impassable. In September 1999 I was in there doing some research for the move of a historic gold dredge to Skagway.
