Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from Christ Church for Edward Davidson Wilson, who passed away Monday morning at the Whitehorse General Hospital from bronchial pneumonia brought on by influenza.
Mr. Wilson was in his 69th year, and was born in Rexton, Kent County New Brunswick, where he later worked in a carriage factory with his brother George. Of an adventurous disposition, "Ned," as che was familiary known, left for the Pacific Coast in 1900, coming to Atlin, B.C. in 1905. The following year saw him in Dawson, where, with his brother Frank, he was employed on the gold dredges by the Guggenheim interests for two years, when he was severely injured in a fall from a dredge.
The accident incapacitating him for heavy manual labor, "Ned" entered
the fox farming business at Macrae, which he managed until a short time before his death.
In the passing of "Ned" Wilson, another of the grand old-timers has left on his last adventure, and will be sadly missed hy a host of pioneer residents throughout the North. Of a cheerful and kindly disposition, he was held in high esteem by all who knew him.
Interment was in the Whitehorse Cemetery, pallbearers being J. E.
French, F. E. Harhottlee, H. Roils, J. Porter, J. Sewell and C. D. Hamilton.
Lett to mourn his loss are two sisters, Mrs. Lillias Porter and Mrs. A. W. Petch, both of St. John, N. B., and three brothers, W. J. Wilson of Oregon City, Ore; Frank G. Wilson and George W. Wilson of Whitehorse.
