It is with great sorrow that we chronicle the death of Russell James
Williams, two-year-old infant son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Williams of Whitehorse. His passing came as a distinct shock to the entire community.
Born at the Whitehorse General Hospital on August 27, 1933, Russell was loved by all who saw him. Of winsome appearance and always cheerful and gay, he endeared himself to the hearts of all the townspeople.
He was always a robust child, and it was not until recently that the
child began to fail, and symptoms of a lung infection became apparent. After an illness of several weeks, he passed peacefully away at 7:30 p.m. Thursday morning, despite the tender
maternal care and expert medical attention given to him.
Mr. Williams is a present employed by the Yukon Consolidated Gold Corp.
at Dawson, Mrs. Williams residing here with her mother.
Funeral services were held at Christ Church at 2:00 p.m, today, the pallbearers being D. Walker, J, Gentleman, J. Nichols and F. Locke, Many beautiful floral decorations testified to the manner in which the child had endeared himself to the community. Rev. C. H. Jenkins officiated.
This community joins in extending deepest sympathy to the family in their great loss.
