ATLIN, B.C. Dec. 7 - Marcus Edwardson, 69, a resident of Atlin since 1913, died suddenly at his home this morning. He had suffered recently from a chest
condition but appeared considerably better in the past few days. William B. Conroy, who had been staying with him, said Edwardson arose apparently quite well, went outside and returned, gasping for breath, He laid down and when Mr. Conroy called him for breakfast there was no response.
Mr. Edwardson was born May 8, 1882 in Norway, and came to Canada in 1910. Three years later, he arrived in Atlin and had worked at various gold mining operations and at John Olsen's sawmill since then. He was in partnership with Jens Olson in a trapline and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Atlin.
He is survive by a brother at Glidden, Sask., a brother near
Ketchikan, Alaska and brothers and sisters in the Eastern United States and Norway.
Funeral services will be held Sunday from St. Martin's Anglican church.
