    Isaac Burpee who was lately arrested in Missouri on the charge of embezzling money from E. Schoff, of Dawson, and for whom extradition papers are being asked, is well known in the Yukon, having been in the country since the early days. He is said to belong to a highly respectable family in Eastern Canada. He is a brother of Jack Burpee, who looted the Bonanza post office while assistant postmaster but who escaped prosecution on the ground that he was mentally incapable. The Burpees quietly left the country together last December. Isaac was managing a store for Schoff at Mayo in the Duncan creek country and it was while acting in that capacity he is charged with having misappropriated the money.
