The abandoned Komakuk Beach Airport is located on Mackenzie Bay on the Beaufort Sea. Komakuk Beach was a DEW Line Auxiliary site called BAR-1 that opened in 1957, and operations ended in June 1989. The airport is at 69° 35' 41" N, 140° 10' 41" W, at an elevation of 24 feet. There was a single gravel runway, 3,518 feet x 110 feet. The site is now in Ivvavik National Park.
