Kluane Lake Viewpoint (Alaska Highway Km 1642.1), Yukon

by Murray Lundberg

Campgrounds and Rest Areas in the Yukon

This large chipsealed viewpoint is located on Kluane Lake at Km 1642.1 of the Alaska Highway. It has no facilities, but lots of level parking and one of the best vehicle-accessible beaches on the lake. Note that the Bing Maps photo below is highly inaccurate now since the Slim's River re-routed in 2016 and the lake level dropped about 15 feet.
