Communities in northern BC

The 3 Kodachromes below, showing the exterior and interior of the church, were shot on April 18, 1987. The caption on my slides say it was called the Necait Catholic Church - when I posted them in the Lost BC group on Facebook, Michael Cleven explained that is the spelling used by Indian Affairs and on maps - the preferred spelling now is Nkiat. The church seems to have been called St. Mary's when built in about 1895.
I recall that when we visited, both the community and church were long abandoned, that only one old man seemed to live there year-round. Some people say the community was never abandoned. Today, Seton Portage is an active community and the church has been restored. Another Catholic church, St Christopher's in the nearby community of Slosh (as spelled on today's maps), is in ruins.
