The ExploreNorth Blog
Best images of each month from The ExploreNorth Blog
Dateline: January 8, 2024.
It's common this time of year to look back at what happened during the previous year. For me, the photos on my blog are a good way of doing that, so I decided to pick out the best photo posted each month. "Best" doesn't mean photographically - images that I'd submit to a contest - merely images that I like because they show what we were up to, and that I connect with in various ways.
In 2014, 102 posts were added to the blog, with a total of 1,962 photos. The longest post, with 47 photos, was "A fall colours weekend at Congdon Creek Campground", added on September 15th.
January 2014
I was so busy that I only posted twice in January, the first one on the 23rd being a wide-ranging catch-up sort of commentary - see "Spring in January in the Yukon?".
February 2014

On August 19th I posted 29 photos from my wandering drive home from Phoenix with our new motorhome - see "Day 2: Route 66 and the Grand Canyon".

On September 23rd, Cathy and I were in Vancouver to board the Celebrity Solstice for a 12-night cruise to Hawaii - see "48 hours in Vancouver, the cruise port".

On October 4th, I posted 40 photos from an all-day tour of lava fields and other places of volcanic and cultural interest - see "Exploring Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park".
November 2014
On November 16th, I spent 12 hours driving to Kluane Lake and back to find clear skies for an aurora borealis display - see "To Kluane Lake for Aurora Borealis viewing".
December 2014
In December, I drove to Vancouver with my niece then flew home, and posted 4 times about the trip - this photo is from post #2, "A Winter drive from Fort Nelson to Quesnel".
