Dateline: January 12, 2024.

    It's common this time of year to look back at what happened during the previous year. For me, the photos on my blog are a good way of doing that, so I decided to pick out the best photo posted each month. "Best" doesn't mean photographically - images that I'd submit to a contest - merely images that I like because they show what we were up to, and that I connect with in various ways.

    In 2013, 80 posts were added to the blog, with a total of 1,566 photos. The longest post, with 62 photos, was "Exploring Bennett and the Chilkoot Trail", added on July 14th.

January 2013
A call that my Dad had been hit by a vehicle resulted in an emergency flight to Kelowna, and I posted 24 photos from that trip - see "Family emergency - back in Kelowna, BC".

February 2013
On February 25th I posted 45 photos and a video from our end-of-winter carnival- see "Yukon Sourdough Rendezvous 2013 - what a weekend!".

March 2013
On March 19th, I was back in Kelowna - see "Back in the Okanagan Valley".

April 2013
On April 5th, Monty and I drove up the Kusawa Lake Road for the first time in a long while - see "Spring exploring: the Kusawa Lake Road".

May 2013
On May 8th, I flew to Calgary to buy an awd Cadillac CTS, and then drove it home. I posted 10 times from that trip, including "Sleepless in Calgary".

June 2013
I was very busy in June and only posted twice, but did get 23 photos from a drive and hike on Mt. McInyre onto the blog - see "Enjoying Yukon Summer on Mount Mac".

July 2013
On the last day of Jukly, I posted 23 photos (of the 173 I shot) and a video from a "stunningly perfect" day of hiking along the South Klondike - see "Wandering in the wilderness, and discovering Bryant Lake!".

August 2013
In August I wrote about several exceptional hikes but finally chose "Paddy Peak - by 4x4 to an unnamed glacier with Monty" as the winner.

September 2013
September saw huge variety, from the Yukon wilderness to Santa Barbara, but this post from a stop on a cruise won the month - see "Sailing into and out of San Francisco, California".

October 2013
On October 4th, I flew to Vancouver to drive a friend's car to Whitehorse for her, and posted twice about the trip when I got home - see "Driving from Vancouver to Whitehorse in 46 hours: Day 1".

November 2013
On the first day of November, I posted 28 photos from a day of exploring by The History Hounds (Monty and me) - see "The History Hounds, sniffing around the White Pass railroad".

December 2013
On December 12th, I had the equipment to deal with the new snow not only on my property, but the street we live on as well - see "Digging out of a record-breaking snowfall".
