    It's common this time of year to look back at what happened during the previous year. For me, the photos on my blog are a good way of doing that, so I decided to pick out the best photo posted each month. "Best" doesn't mean photographically - images that I'd submit to a contest - merely images that I like because they show what we were up to, and that I connect with in various ways.

    In 2009, 126 posts were added to the blog, with a total of 484 photos. The longest post, with 16 photos, was "Bye-bye, cruisers! The end of the 2009 Alaska cruise season", added on September 24th.

January 2009 - nothing

February 2009
On February 11th, I posted 3 photos of my husky, Monty, and described a new connection we had - see "Monty, my Seizure Alert Dog".

March 2009
On March 3rd, I posted 3 photos showing the challenge of dealing with deep snow at our rental duplex in Whitehorse - see "Snow truckin'".

April 2009
On April 7th, I posted 3 photos showing me dealing with deep snow at our home at Mary Lake - see "Digging my way into Spring".

May 2009
On May 22nd, I hiked up the famous granite peak at Squamish, BC - see "Doing "The Chief" - hiking the Stawamus Chief".

June 2009
On June 3rd, we had spectacular weather for a drive to Skagway and back - see "This was the weather we dream about".

July 2009
On July 18th, I posted 9 photos of wildfires and aircraft - see "Forest fires and airplanes".

August 2009
I only posted 3 times in August, and wildfires were the subject of 2 of them - see one at "Wildfires - how smoky is my world?".

September 2009
On September 2nd, we drove to Skagway, and Kayla approved - see "It was too nice to stay home...".

October 2009
October saw 5 posts from a trip to see family in southern BC, including "A railway history day at Myra Canyon, BC".

November 2009
On November 16th, I drove to Skagway and back on a particularly dreary day - see "A black-and-white road trip to Skagway".

December 2009
Elk and thick frost combined to make an excellent outing in mid December - see "Frosty day exploring west of Whitehorse".
