Located at Historic Mile 1202 of the Alaska Highway, Beaver Creek is where travellers from Alaska must report to Canada Customs (which is open 24/7 year round).
Highway/tourist services provide the majority of income opportunities, with a lodge (the 1202 Motor Inn), a motel (Ida's), a hotel (the Westmark), cabin rental
(Buckshot Betty's), an RV park and other services including restaurants at each of the lodging places.
The Visitor Reception Centre is open daily, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., mid-May to late September.
On October 28, 1942, the final connection of the construction of the Alaska Highway (Alcan) was completed here when the 97th Engineers met the 18th Engineers.
