Just a short note today to let you know about a couple of things. First, my latest blog for Destination BC was posted a few days ago – it’s about the incredible snowmobiling at the Haines Summit that attracts people from all over the Yukon, Alaska, BC, and even Alberta. You can read it here.
The huge 3-month-long RV trip to Ontario and maybe Quebec that we had planned this summer has been cancelled, and we’re now just doing 7-8 weeks around BC and Alberta. Monty was a major part of the big trip, and we just lost the heart needed to plan something that complicated.
The new route takes us into territory than I’ve never seen (Tumbler Ridge and Bella Coola), and a fair bit of territory that I haven’t seen in decades (the Kootenays). And if this incredible Spring is any indication, this isn’t going to be a year to be away from the Yukon any longer than necessary! 🙂 Destination BC has identified 64 driving routes throughout the province that will guide travellers to many of the most interesting and most spectacular locations, and we’ll be driving a very large number of them on this trip.
The map is broken into 2 parts because Cathy will only be with us for the 4-week Part 2 of it.
