Bulldog Convoy in the Arctic


A convoy of 11 custom-built Mack LRVSW trucks hauls construction materials from Eagle, Alaska, to DEW line sites in the Canadian Arctic in 1956. These trucks, built by Mack for Alaska Freight Lines, were 12½ feet wide, powered by 600 hp Cummins V-12 diesels, and pulled trailers that were 65 feet long, with built-in tanks carrying 5,500 gallons of fuel. The complete unit weighed 165,000 punds when loaded (23:32).
