First Day Covers from the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Series, 1977
Queen Elizabeth II 1977 Silver Jubilee postage stamps
The small archipelago located in the English Channel, known as the Channel Islands, is comprised of four main islands: Guernsey, Jersey, Sark, and Alderney. The islands, the only British territory to endure German occupation during World War II, lay claim to fine rock scenery, flowering vegetation, and a mild maritime climate.
Guernsey honours Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of her Silver Jubilee through the release of a First Day Cover postmarked on February 8, 1977. The First Day Cover features two stamps designed by Mr. R. Granger Barrett depicting Her Majesty at the time of her accession.
