#12 - Chopping permanent ice uncovered in August on the Alaska Highway. Melting of such ice when the insulating cover is removed is one of the problems solved.

The stamp box on the reverse of this postcard shows that it is a real photo, printed on AZO paper - this stamp box design was used until 1949.
