Attu War Memorial
A World War II memorial sits on the top of a mountain about four miles from Coast Guard LORAN Station Arru. The titanium memorial was placed by the Japanese government in 1987 to honor soldiers who died in the North Pacific during WWII. US Coast Guard photo by PA2 Keith Alholm, used here with permission.
