Alaska Highway bridge engineer photos, 1943

Alaska Highway History

An Explorer's Guide to the Alaska Highway ("Alcan")

The collection of 22 captioned photos below were purchased on eBay in about 2005. We would sure love to know where the rest of the 118 or more rolls of film went. The vast majority of the hundreds of private photos I've bought over the past 23 years have had no information as to subject, location, or date, which can be frustrating. The captions on these photos were a complete surprise when they arrived - I had no idea that they were from a highway engineer, or more likely an engineer supervisor (though I don't yet know his name). The image below shows the front and back of a typical photo in this collection.
