Homer, January 2004

Photos by Mike Busby, Homer, Alaska

In the summertime, Mike Busby operates The Original Chicken Gold Camp up on the Taylor Highway between Tok, Alaska, and Dawson City, Yukon. In the winter, though, he heads south - all the way down to Homer, Alaska! In mid-January, 2004, he sent me these photos with a note:
"We have seen our coldest weather of the past 3 years, but it is awfully breathtaking and not bad to be out if the wind is not blowing (we have been under the influence of offshore pressure gradient winds...brrrr). Today was beautiful and absolutely still, so we resumed our beach treks...check out the pictures."

I think you'll agree that "awfully breathtaking" sums it up nicely! Click on each picture to greatly enlarge it.
